After significant efforts at dissuasion, we acceded to our ten-month-old's demand to be allowed to eat one of our wasabi-coated, baked snap-peas. We made this decision primarily to service the old proviso, "He's gotta learn sometime!"
We expected tears. We got momentary bemusement, followed by gleeful shoving of the whole thing down his gullet.
Lesson learned?
